What will the new R51 look like?

Just wondering what the new gun will look like. Will it look the same with the inside action being the change or will it be a real make over. Any ideas. My one hope is that they change the ugly trigger. Like to see the one in the early add. The shark fin trigger.

As far as looks are concerned, I do not care. I bought the gun because of how it fit my hand, and how it came up on target.
Lower felt recoil and easy racking of the slide would have been a very positive for my wife to use as home defense. Remington refunded my purchase price after about 3 months. IF they ever get their act together and produce a reliable gun that fits the orginal description, and I am still alive, I would consider one again if I could fire about 100 rounds beore I buy. FWIW, I have recently purchased a Ruger LC9S. The new striker fired gun. It does everything I want and has been reliable thru 250 rounds so far. |

Probably the same as the last one...with all the internals finally fixed.

This would be my guess as well.

Ya know, I think the R51 is a beautiful ugly duckling. I think you either love its looks or hate 'em. I rather like its appearance even though it looks just plain weird. But besides the aesthetic values of it, it sure feels good in the hand and it still could end up being a "home-run" for Remington once over this major hump.

I would suspect that the new version would look the same as the old one. The problems were with the internal parts and not the external. I would think that re-tooling the entire plant for internals and externals would be massively expensive.
I just went to Remington s page and they are showing a pic of the original R51 along with an update on what the plans are. Maybe this is a hint at what the new model will look like. Personally I wouldn't mind a little engraving that says something like "R51 II". |

"R51 Mk-I" for the revised R51 9mm pistols... And future calibers named "R51 Mk-II" for next, say, .40S&W, "R51 Mk-III" for the .45ACP, "R51 Mk-IV" for the .380ACP, and so on. Leaving the plain original "R51" behind as the failed unit. To me, that would take the different calibers out of the equation for cataloging and identifying errors for future R51s to come to market. Just like Sig did with the P238 for .380ACP and the P938 for the 9mm PARA... Same process designs in different calibers. That's my thought for the day guys & gals.

According to Remingtons 2015 catalog it will at least look the same as the previous year.
