Browning semi-automatic hunting rifle... not what you're probably thinking (M1918).

Lol, you are right. I was thinking of the Browning Automatic Rifle. I know there is a company or two out there doing "remakes" of the original BAR, so I thought maybe you had one in a chambering that was made for you specifically. ;)

While I won't list everything I own (mainly because there's so much of so much variety) let's just say I have a sufficient stash, especially of 22LR, 223/5.56 and 9mm. Those will get me thru almost any crisis, real or imagined. There are multiple calibers of hunting rounds like .30-06, 7mmRem Mag, .308 and such that can also be reloaded. When it comes down to SHTF stuff, you'll find most Alaskans well-prepared.

Oops, I missed the 4-'500 round' bricks of CCI Competition "Green Tag" and the brick of Eley Tenex @ $27 per 50 for my .22 Target pistols. I need to go spend some of this ammo and hope I never have a fire here at the house, although they are stored in the fire-proof safe.

Thanks nitesite. In today's 'whatever-ya-wanna-call-it' society, you never know what your investments will turn for you. My ammunition and pistol, rifles, and shotguns are just a life-long passion of mine and always will be, just like my collection of restoration cars (some finished & some not). It's just toys although some toys are more serious than others and all about fun and pleasure. But, in my will are instructions for distribution of my firearms and ammunition to my kids and a couple others in a separate session preceding the official reading of my will. My real and auto investments and other assets will be handled as per typical protocol. I just picked up another 950 rounds of 9mm, .45ACP, and .22s yesterday while I was having 5 of my saltwater reels re-spooled.

Rick51/R51, sounds like your into a few different hobbies. Sounds good. I, due mostly to other financial obligations of family and such, am only into firearms! Lol.

Well, rem-toter, I do have a few more hobbies. Woodworking with hardwoods is actually the most satisfying hobby. Lots of hours invested in some projects but that's where my pistols at the range come in. Pure relaxation conjoined with a good mental exercise and a few muscles working out. A couple hours at the range tops off any good day, or not-so-good days for that matter.

I want my R51!!! It's the 2nd week in October... Hello Remington. What's the score? Heh-heh.

I'd have to take an afternoon, and make a count.
For instance, last that I knew, I had at least two dozen bricks of LR 22's......mostly purchased pre-Barry Sotero Administration.
Collector-wise; I have some mid-1970's boxes of 50 rounds: CCI Stingers, Remington Yellow Jackets, 1979 Remington collector tins with 475 rounds, early 70's Winchester 22 shorts, lots of various 17 HMR, and 22 WMR ammo.

I've been rolling My own centerfire stuff since the mid-1970's, and I used to purchase mty cases by the 1000's and load, load, load.........so I have adequate stock.
I did buy a bunch of new (loaded) 30-30's recently, because My cases in that caliber were gettin' kind of old, and case necks were cracking.

Also, I frequently add to My stock of Tulammo 223's, used in the Mini-14, because it's a pita to pick up brass strewn everywhere at the range. Yeah, Tul burns dirty, but that stuff shoots as good as anything that I can load, and nearly as good as green tip, 62 grain, 5.56 Federals.
It is, what it is..........

Well, I inventoried my ammo yesterday, and to my surprise, the count is 9448 rounds. I try to keep it over 20,000 so I suppose I'll log into Midway tomorrow to get started reordering before the UPS, FedEx, and USPS get loaded down with the holiday delivery rush.

We no longer have long guns, but we maintain 2000+ rounds each of .38 Spec and .45 ACP. Numerous brands: Remington, Winchester, Federal, Blazer, MagTech, Herter's and PMC. Strictly home and personal defense, ya know....... ;)

Nothing wrong with keeping it simple. I used to say I would do the same, but I find myself collecting .380 ACP, 9mm Makarov, 9mm Luger, and .40 S&W...just in pistol calibers.
