My Remington 700 ADL bolt 223, with a 26” barrel and 9"-13” bipod. My scope is a Bushnell trophy 4x12 /40 mm. Other than mounting my scope and bipod, I haven’t done any more customized work yet on this rifle. It groups very well at 100 yards so I’m happy. Does great much further out too.

Very nice 700guy. I have the 700 ADL Stainless in .30-06. I like the power the .30-06 offers, but I do really want to get a bolt gun in .223 Remington. It hurts to put too many rounds through that 06! Lol.

Hi remingtontoter,

30-06 in my humble opinion is the ultimate all around hunting load and really fun to bench shoot, but yea, your shoulder gets a workout for sure. Even shooting my 30-30 winchester for more than a few boxes at the range, my shoulder aches for a few days afterwards, even with my pachmayr recoil pad, lol.

My model 700 223 is now my dedicated bench rifle, easy on the shoulder, and fairly inexpensive to shoot. One of these days I'm going to take the 223 hog hunting.
