I am thinking of marketing a tool I have developed that captures the 597's recoil spring, which makes it much easier to install, with no risk of kinking. This is for the .22lr version only. A magnum version may follow.
I'm trying to determine if there is enough interest in such a device to make it worth while producing it. Your comments would be appreciated. Thanks! Joe |

I now have this tool available. It's called the 597 Springtrapā¢. It works great for re- installing the recoil springs, especially the double springs in the 597 Magnum model. It is available from my website, where I have a video showing it's use.
It is also available from http://www.midwayusa.com . |
I just ordered one of your devices off your website. I currently have my 597 Magnum apart to upgrade the extractor to a Volquartson, but have been unable to get the duplex recoil rod springs back in. Please ship it fast!!!

Did you ever get the duplex recoil rod springs back in your rifle?
How is the Volquartson extractor working out for you? |
Yes, I did. Quite a bit of gnashing of teeth, many fluent and LOUD sailor words, and a few remarks about the designers family lineage. The tool was indispensable. NRA Life, NAHC Life, Retired USN
