I got this guy in a barley field a few moments ago.
230yards head shot .223 53 Grain Superformance

I was using a LED Lenser M7r Flash-light as a scope mount.

Clearly could see the critters eyes, hiding between some Barley shoots.
It took me a while to find it as I thought it was closer than 230 and as I was Solo shooting I had nobody to help me keep focused on the spot where the fox fell.

Them 53grain Superformance are a serious varmint round.

I would reccomend them as a good all rounder for the .223

I shot another Fox Sat night, same round same rifle 180 yards. What made it sweeter was shooting it in my Old man's field :D
