I carry with one in the pipe. I've been doing that by locking the slide back and dropping a round into the chamber, then releasing the slide and inserting a full magazine.

My question is, does this method cause any damage to the extractor? Should I instead, load a round into the chamber from the magazine, then remove the magazine and add another round?

I'm not asking a generic question for all semi-loaders, but this handgun specifically.

loading from the magazine is easier on the extractor than dropping a round in the chamber. doubt you'll find many who recommend dropping one in the chamber. just my opinion....there may be differing opinions. i think all extractors work basically the same.

Unless the owners manual mentions dropping one in the chamber by hand, I would not do it that way.
