When the rifles were just 5 shot (4 in mag) no biggie but now LE is getting into them with extended capacity mags the release tab needs to be capable of rapid release to change out mags faster. More along the lines of the M14 type release.

The rifle has excellent human engineering quality as do the 870s, 1100s etc. The mag release is the only improvement I can think of that it needs though I would love to have one in 6.5X06.

I also think the mag release is kinda hard to use, especially with gloves. It does not seem easy to make it longer, but a simple fix i'm gonna try is cutting 1-2 coils of the spring to make it sligthly easier to work.

My old 30-06 Remington 7400 was the same way. I remember having a 10 round single stack mag for it, but it was a little long when shooting on a rest or bipod.

Now I know they're not so ignorant and it's ATRRITION

Got a Model Four in .270 Mine fairly easy with bare hands but can see where gloves could be a problem. Read the release was made thicker on the 7400-7600 models for easier release.
