I just completed one stock re-finish and I'm currently working on my second.. A couple things I've learned in working with this product.
Number one, don't get in a hurry. Each coat is just a matter of wetting the wood with oil applied with your bare fingers. Wait at least 24 hours (at room temp) between coats.
Number two, in between coats, go over very lightly with 0000 steel wool. The most crucial part is making sure you remove all the steel "threads" left from the SW. I tried a lot of methods to insure their complete removal but I had the best luck by passing a strong magnet over the entire surface and then blowing it completely with compressed air.
Number three, wait a full week and then apply the Stock Sheen and Conditioner.
And number four, some folks complain of the Tru Oil crystalizing in the bottle if left too long. I have found with a lot of the acrylic paints I use to make my own bass lures, if you store the bottle up-side-down it eliminates the possibility of air infiltration. Just make sure your lids on tight.

Yup, all tried and <grin> "tru" advice. I usually let mine sit for more than a day between coats.
