hello,
I recently purchased a Remington 510 Targetmaster, made in Nov 1939, which has a clip. I am assuming that someone added the clip to it, however, I admit that I wondered if it had actually been made that way? I appears to be the first year of manufacture, and I wondered if maybe it had been some kind of prototype . . .
Any thoughts or ideas on this?
thanks,
Steve

thanks for the information, much appreciated.
the rifle has a 7 round clip; there is a metal plate on the bottom of the stock, which makes an entrance into the stock where the clip is inserted. There is also a metal casing inside the stock which provides the housing where the clip sits inside the stock, below the bolt. It is a Targetmaster 510, with the letters RH on the left side of the barrel, which I think indicates it was made in Nov, 1939. I guess the clip could have been added by someone. They did a pretty good job, if so. I started wondering if it might be a prototype, since it was the first year of manufacture. Steve |
