A Ruger LCP is on my list of handguns to purchase.

An excellent pistol to carry, but I can't stand to shoot the damn thing. The snappy recoil doesn't bother me that much, but the trigger / trigger guard pinches the hell out of my trigger finger every single shot. Not very comfy at all...

My only Ruger is a Bisley Vaquero in .357 magnum...with a high gloss stainless steel frame and simulated ivory grips. She hits POA / POI with a friends homemade .38 wadcutters...

Thanks...that LCP is a nice "pocket" gun...reminds me of a better finished Kel Tec P3AT.

I have to say that the LCP is by far my least favorite gun in the collection but I can't justify getting rid of it. It's hard to find a better gun for deep concealment and to your point they definitely put more into the aesthetics and finishing than Keltec's P3AT.
Love to carry it, but REALLY hate to shoot it... 16.5" 597 AAC-SD .22lr

A couple pictures of my ruger Sr40c. Love this pistol. 3000+ through it never a problem. Sweet pistol. Also shown are my henry lever action 22lr and my safe on the night stand with my awesome Remington R1. |

Which safe is that okie !?

It's just a cheap Wal-Mart Winchester safe. I just bought it because I have a 12 year old and a 15 year old in the house. More for child safety then protection. I think I paid like 20$ for it.

Nice...I like the Pachmayrs over the grips ( wood/rubber ) Ruger usually fits to the GP series...

Thoughts on the Ruger .357
I feel the LCR series is a fine line up. The most consistent read i find on this gun is 'why would anyone want to fire a .357 round thru it?' followed by 'ouch'. I found the recoil no problem for me. I think many may over anticipate larger caliber small guns and try to control recoil by grip which results into more energy transferred to the hand. Physics works better when a firm grip, working in concert with wrist break and arm control, allows the same energy to be transferred over a wider range, but that's another thread. I have the .357 for a couple reasons(i did trade up from the .38); I prefer the .357 steel frame over the .38's polymer, everything else equal, I don't mind an extra oz for a stronger/safer weapon. A .357 will shoot .38+p all day forever, and extra weight aids in a softer shot, no matter how small(that physics thing again). The other is ammo, by having another .357 and needing both .38 and .357 ammo, it had me second guessing which I have, in which gun. This way I don't worry about it, while i intend to only use .38's in the LCR, at the end of the day it doesn't matter, both of my .357s can eat any of my .38/357 brass, period. ndfrc
