I just went out to the Remington site and noticed that they have conveniently removed all mention of the dreaded R51. It is as if it never existed.
Looks like Remington is running for cover and throwing the buying public under the bus!!
That is a big A.M.F. and I am not talking about sporting goods here.
It is so sad really. It use to be that "American made" use to stand for something pretty great. Now it is only good for ridicule and tittery.

A.M.F. (All my friends??) I requested and have received a refund of my purchase price. Since then I have sold or traded off every Remington product I had. I am already too damned old to wait around for any company to correct a mistake like the R51 |

As I have 2 R51s, I might send one of them to my friend at High Standard here in Houston. When I pick up my old Supermatic from him, I'll take an R51 and see if he wants to toy with it.
