I have a Versa Max Tactical ("VMT") that I want to use in 3-gun comp, but I'd like an alternate rear sling mount positioned at the junction between the receiver and butt stock with the sling attachment point(s) on the top rather than the "bottom of the butt stock heel" position as the gun comes from the factory. I want/need the gun to carry in a barrel-up/ready position when slung (either front or back) in a two-point cross-body sling carry from around my neck, in lieu of the barrel-down/not ready position that results from attaching sling swivels to the forward side-barrel and rear bottom of the butt stock heel.

Is ERGO or any other after-market manufacturer, either producing or planning on producing a rear sling mount similar to the ERGO Ambidextrous Loop Sling Mount that fits between the butt stock and the rear of the receiver such as for the Remington 870?

Not finding anything readily available, I took a calculated risk and purchased the ERGO mount for the 870. Fortunately I wasn't betting $10,000 in Las Vegas at the time, as that particular mount is the wrong shape/size to fit the VMT (and can't be further machined to fit). If no one is going to produce a similar mount for the VMT, then I'll have to machine one out of stainless steel plate - needless to state, I'd rather just purchase one and bolt it on in lieu of firing up the vertical mill and turning one out.

With the sole exception of the rear sling mount point (which granted, will work great for a hunting carry, in either the standard American (muzzle-up) or European (muzzle-down) shoulder carry), otherwise the VMT is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I purchased my first 1100 back in 1964 and while it's still a great gun, the VMT just blows away the 1100 and every other autoloader or pump that I've shot.

I would love to see an optional thinner fore-end...I guess I have small hands. :D

I just installed a Mesa Tactical Urbino stock on my VMT. I'm not very tall, and the factory LOP was a little too much for me. The Urbino makes it MUCH better!

Would love to hear more about the Urbino stock from those who've used them on the VM.

REMINGTON, I HAVE A REQUEST; one I think would prove to be VERY popular. How about a YOUTH STOCK for the Versa Max? I would want it to have the same rubber inserts and adjustability as the standard stocks, please! Maybe 12" LOP with the ability to add to it.

I'm 5' 9" and the LOP is a little too much for me as well. I think only Sasquatch would need the additional plates to make it longer!

I added a few things to make it more 3-Gun friendly

Briley extended bolt handle and bolt release. Nordic mag extension and barrel clamp.

Also had the loading port opened up and the shell lifter welded up to remove the fork.

I get it back this week...will post some pics.

I gave up

Seriously...given all the intuitive options for posting pics out there today...the format of this forum is far and away the most frustrating one I have used in years.
