My local gun store accepted a deposit for an R-51, retail price here will be $400. Although Remington's website has a video on the R-51 (http://www.1911r1.com/pages/Support/model-r51-video), I am still in doubt about the date when they are going to be generally available, and I'd like to get my hands on an instruction manual so that I can see an exploded view of the gun. The only thing I see on the Remington site is the video.

Does anyone have a link to a manual and information on availability?

I'm sure we will get a manual closer to release of the pistol. Still have a month to go. The wait is killing me!

I emailed them for the manual last week. :-)

They said to keep an eye on the website.

I too would love to see a Manual.

My LGS ordered three units on 10Jan, I am first on the waiting list with a deposit in!

I will post a review when it's in hand.

Mid February is what I hear for them to start showing up at dealers, I have one on order from J&G sales, I hope Remington has anticipated what the demand will be and ship a whole bunch initially. Apparently Glock did and the new 42 is showing up in volume. I am not a Glock hater or basher but it does not do any thing for me. This will be my first 9mm and plus P to boot at a price below the 380 Glock.

My local firearms dealers will not do preorders, unfortunately. Let me know if you guys see the manual posted. Very excited for this pistol.

Draidt- I'm hoping so as well, they must know how much demand there would be for this gun! I'm thinking they did as they had enough foresight to have holsters ready!

The first 1/3 of the manual is the 10 Commandments of Firearms Safety, straight from their "Firearms Safety Booklet." (http://www.remington.com/~/media/Files/Booklets/sftybklt.ashx)

Then the usual sections on features, use, cleaning, etc.

If Remington doesn't put up a PDF soon, I'll probably make a scan to PDF myself.

Just an update here:
After I bought my R51 I went online to see if Remington had a PDF manual for download yet. They didn't so I sent a question to info@remington.com asking when it would be put online. Note, again, that this was after I had purchased my R51. Today I received a reply from Remington's service department:
Thank you for contacting Remington! We have not yet released this manual for distribution. The firearms have not shipped as of yet and the manual will not be available before that time. Hopefully this manual will be posted within the next month, but we do not have an estimated date yet.

Thank you and best regards,

That would be a great idea if someone were to scan the R51 manual ant post it here. I'd love to get a look at the internal parts breakdown of this gun.

Lets just hope the person sending that email wasn't the one that put your gun together

The remington handgun site has been saying 'coming in february ' since January and still nothing. One would think that if your going to be rolling out a product of any kind you would already have them ready to ship with plenty of accessories THEN you notify the media/public. That way people will see it and can go buy it. Instead you hear about it and months later, theres a glimmer of hope that theres a sighting somewhere in your geographic region. That's just my 2 cents....

Currently Gun Broker has 30+ R51's and Guns America has 3 for sale/Auction, So I guess they are out. Some have a decent Buy in now price if you want to get one in a hurry. You have to wonder why big dealers such as Gander Mountain, Cabelas, Buds, Hyatt etc still show out of stock or special order.

The manual supplied with the gun does not show or identify all parts.
I posted earlier on the forum about the potential to lose a pin that holds a part of the grip safety in place. This pin is held in place by the grip panels only. Very e'asy for the pin to drop out, un noticed when one or both grip panels are removed.
These parts are not shown in the owners manual. :D

If I did not know any better I would think this was a Government run company.
Looks like a communication breakdown between Marketing,Sales, Tech writers. Hope Manufacturing has there stuff together.

Remington still doesn't have the manual up on their server, available for download. So I scanned my personal copy to PDF.

Here it is:
