Greetings From Alabama

Have never owned a Remington. I have spent a little time with a Model 700. My new R1 basic GI stainless model ships tomorrow. Looking forward to firing it and interacting with you folks. I'm retired from the federal government and enjoy shooting and eating. Though we must do what we must so, I strongly dislike mowing and cleaning weapons.

Or getcha one of them ultrasonic cleaners! Take the wood and plastic off and about 30 minutes in the bath and presto!
