Back in 1980 I purchased a TB Trap model with full choke barrel. Beautiful wood and I have been happy with my scores. Using target or light game loads in it only. Would like to hear from other members who have one or use an 1100 for clay bird shooting.

I'm using my late 60's/early 70's 1100 Field for trap. Barrel was replaced with a 28" screw in choke version before I bought it.
Shot a 21/25 on 16 yd and 17/25 on 20 yd handicap. I'm new to trap and this was only my second time out but I like the 1100 so far. I'm using a modified choke and 1 1/8 oz target loads. The 1100 is a popular gun at my club. Auto-loaders are the minority but if it is a semi, it's usually an 1100. Two of us on our five man team shoot them. |

I'm an excited new owner of a year 63-68 1100 Trap. It has some of the most beautiful wood and checkering I have ever seen, and like the bluing, is about 99% except for a small chip on the stock where it joins the lower left of the receiver. Amazing condition for a 46 year old gun coming out of a pawnshop over Armslist. A previous owner had the 30"VR barrel tapped for Colonial Arms choke tubes, and I'm happy with the versitality that gives me.
It needed a major carbon cleanup when I got it. Did that, replaced the O ring, tightened the stock, and she runs perfect! I haven't shot any trap yet since it's still mid March here in Vt. and the snow is still deep, but after 20-30 "load development rounds" I know it's gonna be easier on me than my 870 was. I'm currently working up some 3/4 oz. loads for trapshooting to try to save powder, shot, and my shoulder. See my post on 3/4oz trap loads. Can't wait till the snow goes! JD |

Good to finally get some replies. The 1100 is my favorite and is my go to gun for trap. Paid $330 for it brand new in 80. Now the ones they make are are way over a grand. Now if I could only find one in 20 gauge. Used good guns are scarce.
