Mine 9 yr old was given a LT 20 by his grandfather. To me, it looks a little nice to put in the hands of a nine yr old boy stomping around the edge of a dove field soon. I've looked here on the site trying to determine age but can't seem to determine it. The serial is N88xxxxK. I know the K- LT. Was this gun made in 1988? I know I can call Rem Monday and just ask but thought I through the question out there?

If it has the original barrel on it the two letter barrel code that can be found on the left side of the barrel near the receiver will be most helpful in determining age.

As far as serial number goes the prefix letter "N" was first used in 1978 and ran until "P" showed up in late 1985.
"P" was used until 1990 when "R" was brought in and it is still in use on all Remington shotguns today.

"K" as the serial suffix indicates 20 gauge LW or LT....they swam them together:)
We have done so much for so long with so little, we are now qualified to do anything with nothing!
