I'm looking to take my 870 home defense and turn it into a turkey gun but I am unsure which barrel to look for...is there a specific barrel I should get? I would like a 23" but I wouldn't rule out a 26" but it must have a choke tube, any suggestions? thanks, Anthony

IMO the 26" is perfect or turkeys and it is also a decent choice for other hunting such as waterfowl, doves, and quail.
It is a versatile barrel length and will work good for most applications.

Length of the barrel is not nearly as important as choke/pattern for turkeys.

I've taken birds with barrels ranging from 24" to 28". If I had better sights and choke tubes on my 18" barrel I would use that one. (something I am working on ;-D )

Remington F240333

I just bought this barrel which is a 21" turkey barrel with an extra full turkey choke from Midwayusa.com. They had the best price I could find and the barrel gets great revies.
