Need screw size on model 12 pump .22

I have restored a model 12 pump .22, but it's missing the screws that hold on the peep sight (rear). Does anybody know the size of these screws? I thought they would be 8-40, but that size doesn't fit.

Do they need to be larger or smaller than 8-40? Larger would be 10-32 and smaller would be 6-40. These are the standard sizes.

Might also look at numrich arms for original screws.

The hole size looks like #8, with a very fine thread, which is why I tried 8-40. I'll check Numrich.

If an 8-40 doesn't fit, the pitch may be different than 40, mebbe 32? I think those are the two standard pitches for #8.
