Hi There! I got the call from my LGS yesterday and a XCR Compact Tactical is inbound. He's also ordering a Nikon 4-16X50SF, a Warne Maxima 2-peice mount and Warne Maxmia TPA high rings. This will be the first bolt gun I've owned in some time and I'm rather excited at the prospect. Currently I shoot at 100 yards mostly, but I figure with this rifle I'll stretch that out to 300 yards possibly.
Being on the long side of my 50's and all that goes with that, I chose the scope as a natural overlap to my other scopes (1-4 & 2.5-8) and in keeping with the Nikon BCD models. The Nikon scopes work for me and come in at a good price point. I wanted a .308 mostly because military calibers are all that I can afford to shoot as often as I like. I don't hunt either and all my shooting time is at the range.
Anyhow, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.. Cheers.. Ron

The LGS called late this afternoon and the XCR has arrived! I didn't ask about the scope, mount and rings and they may not be here yet. I'll stop by there over lunch tomorrow and pick it up.. I'm excited! Cheers.. Ron

The LGS had the rifle, mounts and rings.. but no scope! He says he's having problems finding the one I want. (through his suppliers I'm sure). I'm sure we'll have something next week.

A first look (quick look) has left me feeling very impressed It's a work of Art, honestly. The green and black finish on the stock is great Grips well and looks well. The balance with the 20" barrel is a pleasure to experience. The black finish on the stainless parts is top notch and should last awhile. The bolt to receiver is about as good as it gets IMO. It's just one sexy looking rifle. I'll have a range report after the scope arrives. Cheers.. Ron

Very sweet rifle. Does it come with the 40X trigger or XMARK. Keep us posted with a range report.
If you can't sell it don't buy it
