Grew up on a farm hunting squirrels and rabbits then moved to the city and didn't have a place to shoot. As therapy following cancer surgery (successful!) my brother started dragging me to gun shows. That rekindled my interest in shooting so I drug a Marlin 22 semi auto out of the case it had been in for over 30 years and went to a local range.
Needless to say, I got hooked. Added a M&P 9 mm and got my Stevens Model 15 I shot as a kid firing as well as a Ruger Bearcat I bought in 1969 for $39.
My brother collects old Winchesters but I'm not that rich so when a Remington Model 24 auto called my name at a show, I adopted it. A month later and another show a Remington Model 12 pump joined the family. Both are sweet to shoot.
A Model 351P rounds out three different actions in my Remington collection. The 351 has some problems but that's another post.
I must be a glutton for punishment because Saturday a Stevens 87D followed me home. It's a problem child, too and if I can find the seller it's going back.
I don't hunt anymore but do enjoy shooting the old rifles.
I look forward to many hours reading the forum and will add any comments I feel add to the discussion.
Apology in advance. I'm a semi-retired technical writer by profession so I have a tendency to write long.
