:D My name is Kevin screen name B4 I am an avid shooting sports person and a disabled vet. I recently (Last December) went into a gun shop with my wife to buy my birthday present, a beautiful Kimber full size 1911, but on my way in the store, I walked by a guy stacking these green plastic boxes and putting up a sale sign I recognized the Remington green and RJ the salesman in the ten gallon hat ( like my black Rodeo King) said hey before you buy that Kimber I personally would check out the new Remington. I asked why and he said the kimber is four hundred more and doesn't have a fiber optic front sight and only comes with one seven round mag where the Remington comes with two 8 rounders and the cool fiber optic sight....check her out........once she hit my hand she was coming home with me!

Well I just got her back today from her platinum servicing after almost a year and about 1000 rounds through her Remington was awesome they asked if I had any areas I was unhappy with, I said my trigger has a little extra play in the trigger left to right, and that the finish was disappointing. The guy said hold on and I was connected to a manager who asked me why the finish was disappointing and I said look I have a kel-tec P11 I have had every day on my belt for 10 years the finish has not worn off a bit, its a $200 dollar gun and I expected more from Remington. I will be dog gone, they refinished the whole fire arm no charge, they also replaced the trigger and trigger bow as well as the slide stop, the tech said the slide stop had a burr on it so he replaced it. I have to say, I am thoroughly impressed with Remington and thankful I bought the big green box. I was very very intimately knowledgeable about my R 700 series 30-06 :D that was mated to my right finger by uncle sam, and I own many Rem's Anyway I talk a lot I also collect watches and classic cars. If your on the fence about buying the R1 in any version don't worry be happy!

Glad I found the forum looking forward to making friends
