Coast Products, TX40

167 lumens and it lights the whole room! Its the kind of beam you can see cut through the air!

I just got it yesterday and installed it last night! I got the coast light pictured above, the universal picatinny rail mount pictured below,

and the pressure switch, which replaces the tailcap and uses an 8" wire with a remote pressure switch on the end.

It all looks alitlle like this! ;)

Just gettin everything out of the box!

Mounted!

I opted to mount the pressure switch on my AFG, my fingers naturally fall over the switch and the light is on with gentle pressure!

I have already experimented a little and with the Coast light mounted forward of my forend via a CDM Gear MT 3 slot rail, there is virtually no shadow cast from the 590A1's 20" muzzle. Additionally, I can still see my Meprolight tritium bead on my side of the light! I'm impressed!

If I'm pickin and tryin to find somethin to complain about, the Coast light is made in China. They do however have a lifetime gaurantee!

I'll get some pics in the near future in the dark and runnin the light!

This thread is full of WIN.

Good review, excellent photos, and quite a respectable setup. I'd be real proud to own a setup just like yours! Seriously, that's some rugged looking gear.

From where did you order everything?

Everything?

Well, I'll start with the coast stuff!

Everything came directly from Coast! Dan has some stuff from them too, and when I told him what I was lookin for, he asked some questions and got the info for me!

If anyone is interested, I'd let Dan know and he can def point you in a direction!

For me, the forward mounted light was a prerequisite to minimize barrel shadow. I already had the CDM Gear MT clamp foor a mount, knowing I would want a light down the road. Due to this fact, I wanted the remote pressure switch with a wire long enough to cycle the action.

As info became available for the Coast stuff, I began leaning that direction because I could get each item from one place and it all works together seemlessly!

I do want to say here, after some practice (moving through the house with some touch and go with the light) the sticky stuff on the velcro isnt holding real well. It could be where I have it on the AFG... So I'm either going to use some spray adhesive or super glue on the velcro. I may just stop a hobby/craft store and see if I can find more first, before I put super glue on anything.

I love the focused beam, and will get some pics and maybe video very soon. Comparinng the center of the beam to my Meprolight bead, my POI would be just left of center. I want to experiment some, but I could quite possibly shoot similar to the style advanced and advocated by Ayoob and reliably be on target.

That requires using the light as a sighting device though and I'm not sure of the wisdom behind that thinking yet. There are definitely cons to that as opposed to using the light just for target ID, friend or foe. But on its face, it would work.

I do really like and appreciate how well built and easy to use the Coast stuff is made!!!
