EGW HD Remington 700 722 40x SA Picatinny Rail Scope Mount Review

Description

The bolt pattern on our Remington 700 Short Action mount fits Short Action Remington 700 rifles (example 223, 308), as well as the 740 and 40x. Despite what you may have heard, the Remington 700 mount will NOT fit your Howa 1500 or Weatherby Vanguard. The bolt pattern is similar, but the remainder of the mount (ejection port, length, etc.) render it useless on these two guns.

This mount is machined from solid 7075 aluminum. If you are interested in a steel mount, please see our separate listing here.

The middle spread is the distance between the two middle holes, center to center, on your receiver. The middle spread on this mount is 3.625".

This mount is available in 0, 20 and 30 MOA. Please see our FAQ section for more information on action lengths and MOA.

EGW set out on a mission to ask you, the customer, what the ideal scope mount would look like. We then incorporated these characteristics into the design of our Heavy Duty (HD) scope mount line.

This HD one-piece scope mount is precision machined from solid 7075 T6 (max hardness) aircraft grade aluminum. The Remington Short Action mount is also available in solid pre-hardened 4140 chromoly steel for $119.99 (please see our separate listing to purchase a steel mount).

Picatinny cross slots run the full length of the rail, which gives the shooter flexibility when mounting scope rings and other accessories. The cross slots are also machined the full width of the mount and gauged to MIL-STD 1913 specs maintaining tolerances of +/-.002".

EGW’s Heavy Duty (HD) mounts are lower in height than our tactical rails, which reduces weight and gives the shooter a better cheek weld.

After machining; the mounts are tumbled and sand blasted. The aluminum mounts are Type III hard coat anodized for long lasting durability. The steel rails are Mil Spec parkerized for a durable rust resistant finish.

Add EGW’s HD Scope Rings to make it a complete package!

From manufacturing to packaging, EGW’s products are made with pride in the USA.

Available in matte black.

Compatible with Picatinny or Weaver scope rings.

Installation: Socket head Torx® screws and wrench are included. EGW recommends a dab of blue Loctite on each screw.

First Impressions:

Use: The 4 screws are countersunk at 82 degrees effectively acting as 4 recoil shoulders.
