Hello everyone I was just wondering about buying a new Remington 783 / 270 and was wondering on how many of you feels about this particular rifle. Is this a good choice for target us? i'm not a hunter at all and wanted something with a litter power for target practice.

I also own a Mossberg 500 and love it.

I'm trying to build up a collection and wanted a few rifles and shot guns I can trust.

I'm getting it for a good deal and did not want to pass it up...

Thanks so much for any feed back

The Remington 783 seems to be a fine choice in a bolt action platform...with it's double pillar bedded and precision button-rifled barrel and Cross-Fire Trigger system, it's made for target shooting.

Are you going to buy the factory scoped edition...?

I have a 783 in 30-06 and am quite pleased with it. I have been using it to learn/develop my shooting beyond the 100 yd. point out to 300 as my club allows. I have no issue with its operation and function.

I have enough trust in it to use it for hunting as time permits.

Yes as far as I can seen it's the scope that comes with the rifle, If I need a better scope I'll just pick one up.

I have a 783 compact in .308, and it shoots 1/2" groups at 200 yards. Action and trigger pull are smooth and crisp. I'd say they are exceptionally good rifles.

I have a 783 in 270. I am new to shooting but the trigger is crisp and predictable, even at the 3.5# factory setting. I use it for long range shooting and it has been a pleasure to shoot.
