My new Remington Model 700 Varmint SF in 308 has 1 in 12 twist. Most other Remington 308s have 1 in 10. What will be differences in shooting? Last edited by MagTen on Mon Oct 26, 2015 12:55 pm, edited 1 time in total.

I'm not a complete expert on twists in relation to .308, but the biggest thing would be bullet weights. Either is pretty close for what you can use, 1 in 10 might stablize past 180 gr better but most folks don't shoot heavier than that anyhow. Your gun safe bet is under 150 to 180. You had a good idea in your other thread when you thought you might use lighter bullet weights. Hope that helps a bit till someone else can chime in more.

So far it is shooting 155 grain AMAXs great. At 100 yards. MagTen Tarheel State | |
