Can run 2.75" to 3.5" with out messing with s gas clip. Less recoil felt when shooting. Uses gas piston like AR, no need to worry about piston fowling from rust/grim. No need to worry about changing gas o-rings. Gas system is ran dry. If you don't get the sportsman edition, it has corrosion protection. I own 2 VERSAMAX. Out runs a 11-87 any day

I'm not a 3 1/2 guy I stick to 3 inch shells . If any yea have any experience with these two give me some knowledge . I have been looking at the Franchi Affinty since it's 3 inch hate to hop the pond ,but it comes with three chokes, shims, hiviz bead ,and it has a simple ,but reliable operating system that it easy to clean . Where as the Versa Max Sportsman comes with a choke ,no shims, no hiviz sight, a little more complex break down . The advantage I see in it is its a Remington.

Your right, the sportsman is bare minimum of a VERSAMAX. Guess I should have added, all I shoot is rio 3" #2 1.75 ounce till late season waterfowl then switch for the last 2 weekends to a 3.5"..... Me personally I would spend the money on the sportsman. I'd go with the original VERSAMAX! If u can afford the waterfowl pro or can find one, jump on it. Saftey features are bigger and feed ramp was redesigned. As for 3", never have had an issue with cycling and recoil is at minimum

NO I WOULDN'T PERSONNALLY PURCHASE THE SPORTSMAN MODEL..... Keep in mind, I'm here in south Louisiana. A lot of moisture and I put a gun thru the paces..... If you clean ur gun constantly and don't abuse it, the VERSAMAX would be perfect.... I like the versa port system over standard gas system. I ran over 3 cases of Rio (very dirty) thru my VERSAMAX from September to January. No cleaning, no issue. 11-87 is lighter but more moving parts. I like a heavy gun, slows my swing down. As for the second bead, I removed both of them of of both of my versamax's. Look thru this link:
http://donshobbyguns.com/store/search?k ... Itemid=118
They have a waterfowl pro, very hard to come by. They also have the cheapest prices on VERSAMAX.....

Please do me a favor.... Please post up ur reviews, likes, dislikes...... I'm interested if it holds up better (corrosion wise) than the 870/11-87...... I know the gas system and recoil system is nice

Hands down, I believe the vmax platform is one of the best! I enjoy mine! It's nice to be able to run any load you want and not worry if it will cycle. I'm really looking forward to the V3, it has caught my attention
