hello,
i'm a bit confused with the procedure of the rifle fitting.

I used several approaches:
a. Boyds' stocks approach to rifle fitting:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOgIPbzKHWI
based on the above: my "nose" mark is 1 and 3/4 BEHIND the 5 and 3/4 mark. This position seemed to be the "natural" standing position for me. the problem is - a big shadow in the scope. And It doesn't look like i can move scope 1 inch closer to the butt. ( I use the standard scope, no mods). So i move my head closer to the scope. Once i'm exactly 53/4 from the trigger - shadow disappears.

b. Popular measurement by distance from the biceps to middle finger:
http://thefiringline.com/forums/showpos ... ostcount=1
based on this approach my LOP is 14.5 and gun fits perfectly onto my arm.

c. Nose to finger distance:
I also read that on a properly fit gun, the distance between big finger and my cheek should be around 1-1.5 inches. that is true right now.

Overall i'm very much confused - do i need to adjust (increase) the stock or not?
I'm 6.1 if that matters.
appreciate your advise.

Although I do a lot of adjusting on shotguns I have found very little need to do that in the rifles I own and I have a 36" Sleeve Length. If it is comfortable for you and you are using a scope and do not have an eye relief problem, I would not worry about it. If it is not comfortable, try one of the slip on pads before going to the expense of having a thicker pad added to increase the LOP.

Just my two cents.
