Hi All,

To preface this post. I am a relatively new sabot slug shooter, and this was the first time I had taken the new barrel out to the range to experiment with loads. A few "technical difficulties" occurred with my optics rail (blue loktite isnt strong enough), but I tried to make it work .

So I started shooting with a TRS 25 attached to a weaver mount, and then switched to factory irons afterwards, so many adjustments were in fact needed.
Seems as though my gun liked the Winchester Gold Partitions, and Rem. Copper Solids. A third place goes to the Federal Trophy Coppers.

Update:

So I took the Versamax out to the range again with some loctite on the rail this time. Grouped 2 3/4'' Copper Solids within 1.5'' at 50 yards, slightly looser at 75 yards with the Bushnell TRS-25.

When I got up to camp this year, 30 minutes into my first watch of the year this doe came running by at 45 yards. Connected on the second shot and she piled up in 40 yards.

Pretty happy with the versamax on how it handles the slugs. I was going to buy a BLR in .243, but I cannot argue with results.

Do you have any pictures of the gun with the slug barrel? I've been thinking about buying it but keep hoping it, or the V3 will come out with a cantilevered barrel like the 11-87 models did.
