Over/Under Recoil-operated Trigger Re-Set

I picked up your basic 12-GA o/u shotgun yesterday, made by Kofs of Turkey. Not a bad piece, certainly not a Kreighoff either. Last night I tried to shoot a round of trap with it, and it was a massive fail. You shoot the top barrel, eject a shell, reload and chamber and "sometimes" the trigger doesn't reset. Of course you don't know until you swing on a clay and there's no trigger pull.
The action is tight, because it's new. I'm wondering if closing the action doesn't generate enough force to reset the trigger because it closes slow, not snappy. You know how you see these guys flip the barrels up to close their o/u actions one-handed? Not mine, couldn't be done. A good cleaning and lube of the action is in order. As well as cycling it a few thousand times.
Other thoughts?
