Curious if anyone else likes automatic knives.

I've only owned a few over the years. 3 of them being Schrades.

Sure do John. Easier to get these days through places like Blade Headquarters in Lehi Utah even if your state does not sell em. Also a fan of the assist models like my Sog Trident. Pretty decent assist and only set me back $59.

I'm pretty sure the one that my wife got me for Christmas came from BladeHQ. They have some really good prices on stuff.

My youngest son gave me an Kershaw assist for Fathers Day last year. It's been in my pocket ever since.

A Kershaw Blur maybe? A decent knife without breaking the bank. Good steel I believe. Just started a new collection a couple years back. Also added a Buck Alpha folder for skinning and for woods hiking I like my Gerber Prodigy Tanto fixed blade. Has 420 H.C. steel but blade is full tang and tough. Paid $50 off Blade Headquarters for it. Check it out if it sounds like a knife ya could use. Still got the old Puma Skinner from 1967. Paid around $30 back then! Go for big bucks now.

Buck knives are an old favorite.

As are Old Timers.

The older case knives.

The only knife that I have that draws (what I would call) the big bucks is an old Buck 184 navy seal survival knife. I've seen them going for over $300 on ebay recently. And yes, I still have all the parts that came with it (except the box).

I don't have a lot of nice "collector knives". I tend to gravitate more toward good tool knives, and I use them.

My Dad used to have a really big knife collection that he worked on for years. I'm pretty certain that my half brother ended up with most all of those before he passed away.

He had some really rare and old knives. He had a few early case knives that I've never seen in any collector book or price guide.

Dad gave me a few knives that were his, and my late grandfathers. They probably aren't worth much, but I wouldn't take a million dollars for them.
