I recently came across a Remington Nylon 10 bolt action with a 24 inch smooth bore barrel . I have read that they only made 200 of these . Are these guns that rare today ?

Sounds like you are referring to the Nylon 10-SB. My book sayssimilar to Nylon 10 but with smooth bore barrel used for .22 shot cartridges. No mention of how many made unfortunately. Does say this model is infrequently encountered so value should be high. Probably made 1962-64 like the single shot Model 10
