New member here. I recently purchased a Remington 30R Express Carbine serial number 13426 which I believe dates it to Oct 1927. It's in 30.06 and was issued to the Pennsylvania State Police. I am wondering if there is any information on how many of this particular variant were made and how many
were issued to the Pennsylvania State Police. I also have a trading card of this rifle which was put out by Remington in the late 1990s. The rifle on the trading card is Pennsylvania State Police no. 12. Mine is either 10 or 16. The second digit is slightly damaged so can't tell for sure. Otherwise it is very nice
and the bore looks almost new.

Love to see a pic of your Model 30R. I see Remington made the Model 30 from 1921-1940 with the Model 30 R having a 20 inch barrel. My Blue Book is old so I can't quote a price.

Another new member. Sorry to hijack this post, but I haven't figured out how to initiate a new post.

I have a 22 inch model 30 barrel in .35 Remington, in new, unmounted condition. It has a date stamp of xnn2; December 1944 if I read the data right. I have no idea what the 2 means. In smaller ...1/16th or so.. are the stampings ww and what looks like a 2.

The barrel has no front sight and has the correct mortise for the Rem crosspinned banded front sight.

I am a 1903 guy, know little about Model 30s except that I have moose hunted for forty years with a professionally redone Model 30S originally in 7x57, shortened and rechambered by the first owner and the then rebored again by me to .35 Whelen. It will shoot 1- 1 1/2 " groups all day long with 56.5 of 4064 behind a 250 gr Nosler.....including the cold bore shot. Every time. Of the many Model 70s, Sakos, Dakotas and other well made guns I have owned over the years this one is my absolute favorite. The barrel in question has the same profile and same roll die stamp as my Whelen, sn 17xxx.

I thought Model 30 production ended around ca. 1936. Why was Remington making barrels well into the War, in obsolete calibers, during or shortly thereafter their 1903 production efforts? All responses gratefully accepted. Dokcop@gmail.com. Thanks.
