Looks like my Model 10, including the leather case. Watching that action work is amazing, if a bit noisy.
http://www.remington.com/products/archived/shotguns/pump-action/model-10.aspxBy 1908, they started making modern pump action guns like the John Pedersen-designed Model 10 and the Browning/Pedersen Model 17. These popular guns remained in production for 20 years before being replaced in 1931 by the (also designed by Pedersen) Model 31. The 31 was a great gun, with almost 200,000 made by 1949.

There is not such thing as a "pre" model 10, Remington just didn't originally mark a model on any of their firearms until later. Your model 10 was made in late1910, they actually started making them in 1907.

A couple that are high on my list of must haves there! Sadly, not many model 10’s or 17’s crossed the pond. They would sit happily as ancestors of my Ithaca model 37 collection, a model 31 wouldn’t be denied cabinet space either! I live in hope!
