New Friends,

While I'm "addicted to" the Model 760 & own one in almost every caliber from .244REM to a (rebored 760 by JES to) 9.3x62 Mauser, I own only one 7600 example: a Model 7600 Police Carbine in 5.56NATO/.223Rem.
(I found the little police carbine at an Austin, TX police supply & which is one of 5 ex-Temple Texas PD carbines but which were never fired/issued by that police agency, before being traded-in on SMGs .)

Btw, I'm seeking an original Remington-marked magazine for my carbine, as none of the vendors that I've found on "The WORLDWIDEWEIRD" actually have any for sale.

yours, satx

Recently got an October 1987 ( EH barrel code) 7600 high polish blue and walnut stocks. Caliber .30-06.
The magazine is interesting though. Its a 742 mag without the bolt stop. It works fine, but that orphan slot is a bit strange...
Fine rifle. Very smooth, reliable, accurate and has a really Dr ent trigger.

My 7600 is just like Copper 88s pic above, plastic furniture. I told a friend I was looking for one and he told me where one was so I hauled can over there the following morning and looked it over. I don't think it has over ten rounds through it. The bolt face appear mint. Somebody did not know about sling mounting hardware and tried to put a sling stud in it and of course that did not work.

I have the same dot scope Copper 88 has that will be going on it but first I put a 3-9x scope on it to check out my loads so maybe tomorrow I will pull scope off and replace with dot.

What I don't like the the mag release is hard to actuate.

I have a 8 rd mag as pictured and it is crap. I have tweaked the feed lips to get the bullet nose to at least look toward the chamber but now I need to alter the front protruding bump on mag front wall and make it more pronounced as it won't fit into the recess in receiver. Won't have time to get on it for about six weeks as we leave for Montana Tuesday morning and won't be home for five+ weeks.

I found a 10 rd mag that said USA Magazine on it and it seems to want to feed fine. The floor plate is not cupped like the pic above but is formed pretty much like the bottom of a M14 mag.
