But any way Im looking for a good rifle for shooting coyotes and preferably in a .308. Im in a toss up of the Remington 700, the Remington 770, and a S&W M&P 10. Can any one help me? Is there much difference between the 700 and 770? what would yall recommend for a good coyote rifle. Dam things need to die!!
coyotecody784 wrote:Ok thanks. How is the weight on them? Im looking for one that will reach out and drop some coyotes but I can still carry out with me to the stands with my 887 during deer season. so when some come out of range of the shotgun i can still get them. Ive read and heard the 700 can be a little sticky. there any other problem i should know about with them? Thanks for the help.

They both have synthetic stocks and are almost too light for what I like but the scopes balance that. Going up and down the stand should be a breeze.
I've had no problems with either as far as being "sticky" - can of rem oil. Man I can really tell you I really like that 783 I went on a goat hunt with it a couple of weeks ago did almost about 9 mi total and my shoulder wasn't even sore.

OK thanks for the help. Ive went into some of the local gun shops and done some more looking around and getting the feel for em and may have my eyes set on the 700 or 783. sad part is the only shop that had the 783 in stock was my local tactical gun shop. What would be your reasoning to pick the 783 over the 700 or the 700 over the 783 for the better coyote gun? See what yall thing about them.
