Remington Owners would like shed some light on floorplate conversions to the Remington 700 to accept Detachable Magazines as well as other magazine extension options. We will review the various Company's Kits to help you decide which one is right for your 700. If you know of a Kit for the Remington 700 that is not currently on the list please post up and I will add it.

Holy smokes, I know what I absolutely have to have! The Wyatt Outdoor .308 10 round! Maybe a bit much for a bolt gun... and yet I need it!

This is another option if you are looking for a 10 round magazine!

0-Shot .308 Accuracy International Magazine.

These are the same mags in use by our US Armed Forces. Manufactured from steel with special coatings for durability and corrosion resistance.

Springs and risers are removable for cleaning.

Yeah, Thats awesome! The idea here is interchangability, one magazine that works with the bolt gun or an autoloader like the M1A, also modularity for a vest... being able to use the same magazine pouches!

Nice work here Dan, Thanks!!!

Man, I want a 700 so bad but the dizzying number of variations makes it so difficult to settle on one!

Thanks, Doc, for the excellent thread.

So I have a 700 VTR. Does anyone already know which one of these will for sure fit my rifle, or do I need to call all of them lol?

I really like the CDI Precision DBM but you are going to need to have it custom fitted to your stock. If you give them a call they will take care of any questions that you may have.

Check out the Canadian vendors on www.canadiangunnutz.com

I'm pretty sure there are a few that distribute for badger ordnance and others.

I'm looking to convert my 30-06 700 BDL from a hinged bottom plate to a detachable magazine. I've seen a Kwik Klip kit on Cabelas website. Has anyone used this kit or know anything about it? It is about a third of the price of any of the ones on this forum. If I bought this kit, would I get what I paid for and regret it later, or is it a good deal? Any advice on any of the other kits already mentioned would also be helpful. I'm looking for an easy conversion (something I could do myself). The only kit on this list that has listed a 30-06 is the one from Wyatt's Outdoor.

I have not had any personal experience with the Kwik Klip Kit from Cabelas but it does look like a good kit overall. It seems that in some cases it needs to be modified to fit certain setups but overall is a drop in kit. Let us know if you end up purchasing the kit!

Surgeon Rifles makes a really good one that comes with an Accuracy International magazine.

I saw yesterday that Kwik Klip now makes one for the 700 SA. The bottom metal and one 10 rd. mag is a little less than $220 from a place in Canada.

I just bought a700 SPS tactical with the Hogue overmolded stock. I HATE hinged floor plates. I'm also not a gunsmith, but I'm reasonably handy. Does anyone have experience installing one of these kits on this model? Are any of these kits a true "drop in"?

The easiest and most true drop in would be getting a kit like the following
http://www.tacticalworks.com/Remington- ... ckage.html
http://www.tacticalworks.com/Remington- ... ckage.html
There are also some drop in kits for the factory stock like the following
http://www.cabelas.com/catalog/product. ... tId=741478

I like those ones at Tactical Works. Has anyone installed a spa heavy barrel onto one of them before? How much smithing did it take?

I am not sure on the barrel but I really love my Tactical Works setup on my 700 AAC SD
