887 light primer strike

Hey all,

I have a early model 887 (bought 2010) that suffers from the light primer strike issue. The shooter must consciously hold the slide in the forward most position, or the gun will not fire.

I recently talked to the Remington Firearms importer here in Canada (Graval Agency) and they refused to have any work done on the shotgun because its out of warranty period. Irritating as heck that they can't fix a problem that is obviously a manufacturing flaw. I bought the gun in 2010, but i didn't get much opportunity to shoot it in the first couple years of ownership due to new family members!

Anyhow, anyone know of a fix for this problem?
