I now have my uncle's gun. I don't think she's been fed over the years. After replacing the o-ring, she shoots soft and clean.

Who puts rubber inside a gun anyway?

Practically all makers of gas operated semi auto shotguns. The O ring is static in service and should last forever if it is the right material (Viton) and you don't tear it during maintenance. I have one that has been on my '63 Model 1100 since I installed it to replace the original metal V ring in 1967.

I suppose. I'm an old pump guy so these newfangled autoloaders are a mystery. :)

A 54 year old design is newfangled !? You must be even older than I am.

I had an 1100 for many years and loved it. As I aged it got a bit heavy, so I sold it to my neighbor. I bought a new one with an 18" barrel, it seems much lighter, I love it.
