Serial# ends in B

Hey guys kind if trolling here. But thanks for the help. I own a 721, thanks Grandpa, and I’ve been eyeing a VM for a while. Excited! Found one second hand, never fired??? for what that’s worth.
New VMs look to have serial numbers like RT84XXXA. Post on shotgun world stated Nov 2012 and later would RT32XXXA and up. Here is the rub, this gun is RT28XXXB. First, WTH is the B? Second, This is in the Remington Hard case that has the 200 year stickers on it. I could think that the Rem made 96k VMs in 4 years and rolled the odmeter, but if that was the case the new VMs I see wouldn’t be RT84XXX, right? If it is pre 2012, what serial numbers were subject to the original recall?I’m wondering if his possession is not on the up and up and he doesn’t want to send to Rem for warranty.
Had to ask cause, this deal seems to good to be true. Please don’t tell me that B stands for made in Bangkok. I think I’m over thinking it, but any clarification would be greatly appreciated.
