Phil,
I just purchased on of the Remington ACR’s: SN:RV000XXA (2-Digit SN). This is what I know, “This particular example was purchased by a special warfare member as part of a special purchase made with Remington”. Well.... it’s mine now - Bought through an Auction.

This was a Prototype Remington ACR redesigned to meet the requirements for the now cancelled Next Generation Army Carbine and Subcompact Weapon competition.

This is a Remington... Not a Bushmaster. How rare is this Firearm? Do you know how many were produced..... Let alone, how many of these are in Civilian Hands?

Thanks,
WaikikiWayne//

WaikikiWayne, thank you for joining the forum. We're glad to have you.

I may have some info about the gun, or at least the origins that you may not be aware of. I do not have anything specific about that particular gun at all so this info is going to go back prior to Bushmaster purchasing the rights, or at least the design, and then who were later purchased by Remington who changed the name to the ACR.

Magpul Corp. was the original designers. It was originally named the Magpul Masada.

Magpul had the only known working prototype for a while and ultimately decided not to market it themselves. And of course, the prototype was a select fire post sample machinegun.

I do not pretend to know the particulars as to why magpul didn't produce the gun themselves. I know going back to ~2007, I waited what seemed like forever for magpul to release the gun because I was so interested in it at the time.

After several years though of not seeing any on the shelf, my interests had changed some and I lost hope that it would ever been released and I moved on to other guns and interests.

I recall an episode of Future Weapons that featured the magpul masada airing on TV too, which you would probably be able to find on youtube.

I hope that this info may help in learning more about the gun. At least the early origins of it.
