Changes front site for fiber optic

I changed just to RP9's front site out for Reming5ons FO site. A little tricky with a standard square frame site pusher and the long spring support at the front of the slide but the old blade site slid out and the new one slid in.

The FO site cut over a second off each of my runs in a local steel challenge. It was so much easier to pick up the front site and get it on target.

Is there a site pusher that is better suited to the RP9? I have never tried to do it myself but am thinking of installing the FO sights on my R51.

I'm not sure. The RP9's lug under the slide to hold the front of the recoil spring is about a half inch long and directly under the sight. I had to unscrew the pusher's bottom slide support block and move it back to let the lug clear and then use the offset pusher to get on the sight.

I used a Sylvan GL-38 available on Ebay for about $35.

I'm not sure if a Wheeler pusher would do a better job. Those are 4x the price of mine and I don't see myself changing too many sights per year to justify it.

Do mark the sight's original position on the slide lightly with a pencil. My RP9 sights were centered in their dovetails and aligned with the barrel. Better than two other well respected industry names.
