RM380 Conversion to 9mm?

With Remington Arms filing for bankruptcy and closing a plant, my dreams of a 9mm version of the RM380 have been dashed. Other than removing the spacer from the magazine and replacing the barrel, what other modifications would be necessary to make this happen? Seems like it would be a moneymaker.

My hopes have been dashed also. A 9mm in that frame would be ideal for me as a every day carry. Might be a little snappy but if I had to use it in a shtf situation would never notice it. But for now will continue to carry my RM380.

Not sure of any 9x19 pistols that use direct-blowback like a 380. Snappy? That's one word for it. If it was that easy to make 380's into 9x19's they would proliferate, don'tcha think?

The RM380 predecessor was the Rohrbaugh R9 so shouldn't be to hard to produce a RM9 I wouldn't think.

I agree. The magazine spacer itself, implies a 9mm to .380 modification.

late to this thread. probably need a stronger recoil spring assembly, different magazine follower and spring, the new owners of Remington may make this happen. this would be a seriously good carry pistol in 9mm. nothing wrong with it in .380, however.

Maybe the bidder for the Remington line of pistols will take the RM380 up to the next step and introduce a RM9 in 9mm. We can always hope can't we?

Saw today that the group that has the Remington name has had their FFL approved and are scheduled to start production March 1. The first production run will be the 870. So maybe there is a glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel for the RM 9.

Remington and the union have reached agreement and Remington is to start making guns again. There may be hope for a RM9 based on the RM380 in the future yet.

Good to hear! Hopefully the old style Wingmaster and 1100 are to be made. Might not be cheap am sure but miss that ole blued steel and walnut.
