I’m looking for a place to get get some grip screws without paying $4-$5.00 a piece for them. I have found a place local that has a # 3-48 machine screw with Phillips head which seem to fit but I would rather have a Allen or Torx screw.

The OEM Torx screws are available at Numrich (https://www.gunpartscorp.com/products/1582470) but not at your price. Are you sure it's #3-48? McMaster-Carr has them including hex screws but you need to buy in quantities of 10 or 100. (https://www.mcmaster.com/standard-rounded-head-screws).

I’m not sure they are 3-48. I put one in to test and seemed to fit. I was hoping some one might know what they were and let me know for sure.

You could get a pkg of 5 from McMaster for the price of 1 from gun store.

Most hardware stores with those bins of nuts and bolts will have a screw-checker. My local Ace True-Value has a set of "gun screws" that a screw could be compared to. Then there are a lot of hardware places online, McMaster-Carr, Enco, Metric Screws, etc that will have them. Of course like McM-C, the smallest I could find was in a quantity of 10. Always good to have spares.

Remington's owner's manual doesn't give the size, just says GRIP SCREW (5). You could call Remington customer service and ask but it'd be easier to take one into your LGS or HW store and have them check the size, and tell them you're inquiring "just in case because they're so small you might lose one" and then find them online to purchase at a reasonable price. Of course if your LGS helps you, you should support them by buying there. After all, with shipping, your online price might be comparable.

New RM380 owner. Already enjoying this board. Just wanted to tell those looking that the 3-48 is the correct threading for the grip screws. I was able to get a pack of 50 SS Hex Head Button Screws off amazon for about 10 bucks. Threw a little vibratite on and they are good to go!

Thanks to both of you for the info. I got 100 3-48 Allen buttonhead for $9.14 including shipping from the McMaster-Carr link above.
