the Galloway springs definitely lighten the trigger pull (to about 7.5# according to Galloway) but do not change length of pull or reset.

Thanks for that info. I read about the kit at the Galloway website, and I wondered if it would be an improvement. Appears to be so.

Did you have Galloway do the install or do it yourself? I am a bit Leary of trying to do it myself.

I'm no gunsmith, but following the step-by-step video made the process very, very easy. There's not much you can mess up, so it's definitely worth a try.

I agree with boscobarbell, the video made it easy.

I changed the spring and got the stainless guide rod and spring. Also got the stainless hammer spring retainer. With some graphite lube it almost racks itself. Very easy to shoot and a worthwhile upgrade that didn't cost much.

JackBear4919, I have similar hand issues as you do, the spring kit helped my RM380, I took it to the range today to test it. The pull is lighter, but after a few rounds I had to move my finger off the pad and closer to the joint to continue shooting. I didn't notice the stacking at all today maybe because I was focused on pressing the trigger straight back, or maybe it's better as jd10ac mentioned. I love the gun, sized right, don't love the long trigger pull.

Hello! I just traded my S&W .38 in for a Remington .380. I have carpal tunnel so my grip strength isn't always that great. When I first tried to shoot it, i thought it was malfunctioning because I could not fire. Turns out, I just couldn't pull it back far enough. I had to use 2 fingers to be able to actually fire the gun, which is not ideal for a SD firearm. I don't have a lot of gun knowledge, so you'll have to forgive me if I don't use the right terms. I was researching changing the trigger and came across this forum and was wondering if changing the spring would help with the current situation. Any advice/helpful input would be appreciated.

The Galloway spring set definitely lightens the pull but it does not change the length of pull.

Got my RM380 a week ago (5/4/18), put 60 rounds thru it on Monday, 40 more last night, and today (5/12/18) installed the hammer/firing pin spring set. Function tested it and the put some rounds of my carry ammo thru it. The hammer spring set may only reduce the trigger pull by 1.5-2#, but the perceived pull seems much more reduced than that. It's like night and day!!! On top of that, a gun that racked very easily (compared to my KT P3AT and my Taurus TCP) now almost racks itself. The switch took me about 15 minutes (having watched the video twice made it very easy), with no problems, and this is something I wasn't looking forward to doing. Anyone who is considering this but may be a little intimidated, DON"T BE. Watch the video and it's really simple. Says alot about the gun. Simple but totally functional and reliable. I was considering the upgraded recoil springs too, but since it functions so well this way I don't really see the need!! Of course, your comments are always appreciated!
