Well they say the third time is a charm, so I headed out to the range today for my third try with the R51. I did a little more "on the range" gunsmithing to see if the R51 would run better than it has in the past, and I also took the two new magazines that Remingtton sent to me. To see how it went, click on the link below!

Howard,
i was hoping that new magazines or clipping the spring would solve your R51 issues. so far, mine has run well. if Remington has outsourced these magazines, they better work with their vendor or Remington will fail in this venture, which is not what they can absorb right now, due to a vendor issue. too bad. thanks for taking the time for the videos and being critically honest. it's too bad as i really like the looks of the pistol, the +P rating, the internal hammer as opposed to a striker fire, the better balance than plastic frame, the simple operation, the concealability, and light weight. mine is not a match pistol for accuracy, but that could be more me than the pistol. the light weight and short sight radius make it more difficult for me to shoot tight bullseye groups at 25 yards. but it is still a light weight to carry piece.
best regards,
tdbru

I feel like I really need to give Remington a chance to fix my R51. I’ll be calling customer service (again) in the morning to find out what I need to do in order to send it in for repair. If it comes back from them and it still doesn’t function right, then I’m probably going to throw in the towel.

As an FYI, I just got off the phone with Remington. They are springing for the shipping and even sending me the packaging to ship the R51 back to them in. The one thing I will say for them is that all three of the Customer Service Representative's I've spoken with have been friendly and helpful. At least that's one positive.
