New owner of an 870 Express and new member here. I have a question which brought me here to begin with. This gun has what Remington calls"Matte Black Non-Reflection finish". I like it but wanted to know how this is finished. It looks like it has been bead blasted to create the matte surface and then chemically treated. I'm not sure if it is a standard bluing process or something else. Do any of you know? I plan to keep it wiped down good with Break Free CLP to prevent any rust. Thanks for your help.

The Express is bead blasted and flash blued, it is not deep blued or parkerized. This is one of the reason it can be sold for $325.00.
Disassemble the gun and wash the metal receiver, mag tube, and barrel with hot dish soap water, scrub away until you think you have it clean. Then dry dry it off real good (compressed air will help) and oil real good with your above mentioned CLP. I don't think Remington always gets the bluing chemical salts off before they box them up, and all the oil in the world will not dissolve salt. We have done so much for so long with so little, we are now qualified to do anything with nothing!
