Hey guys!

On to my next idea..

Could you fit a 870 forend on an 887?

Looking at this picture they appear similiar in construction..

.. question is - are the dimensions same?

If i could fit 870 forend (Thinking of SureFire forend with a flashlight...) i could likely also fit a side saddle because the 870 forends are much shorter!

Then we could have 887 with a mag extension, tactical pistol grip, side saddle and aftermarket forend - how cool would that be?

Apparently this idea is going to be really hard to work on.

M887 receiver is much wider than 870 (this is why you cant use 870 rail saddles either) and the fore end comes over it because of 3,5" chambering, the action is longer than on 3" models.

So no luck with this so far..

Can you just trim off the overlaping portion? I've seen this done before on a few guns.

Possible but looking at how much wider the 887 is im afraid that would make the new forend too thin to be durable..?
