First I just want to say hello to everyone, I have not owned a Remington in over 40 years, until they came out with this 1911R1 I am not much of a rifle or shot gun guy I like the pistols. I am now glad to be part of the Remington family. Hello to everyone.
I picked up a new addition today, Love it. I have not shot it yet but it is a well made piece of American workman ship.

This will go good with my other 2 45's
I purchased a Remington 1911R1, I debated about getting the enhanced version but did not like the longer trigger or the grips. I purchased a Davidson's Talo edition. I did not like the grips but liked the shorter trigger. I bought the Davidson's because of the warranty, Remington only has a 2 year warranty. They should have a lifetime warranty.
I have replaced the grips already and also the end cap for the spring, could not resist gold inlaying the billboards. I like the look and can't wait to shoot it tomorrow. here are some pictures of it and my other two ( S&W 645 and Taurus PT1911SS)

Thanks Shooter13, My 645 is a 1986, and thanks for the comment on the Esmerelda grips also. I bought them used off of eBay at half the price of her new one's. I have 2 sets of them.
Thanks for the welcome I will be sticking around for a long while. Now I have to go and read some of the stickies. I like this Remington so well that I will probably only change two more things if any.If I change any thing it will be the grip safety to a beaver tail and the hammer to skeleton hammer. I only liked the hammer and beaver tail on the enhanced R1.
My 645 was Magnaported, mixed feelings on the magnaport. I bought another barrel and slide for it also so I can shoot either one.

Took her out and fired her today (8-18-12) 50 flawless rounds. Very pleased. I will Email Remington today the gun grouping was real good just a little low. I had to hold a center point of aim or a little higher. Wounder if the make a shorter front sight or a tad taller rear sight to bring point of impact higher. The gun was very comfortable to shoot. I had a few round nose federal left and a box of Winchester 230 grain hollow points also had some Federal premium personal defense (hollow points) all fired smooth. Now to just get point of impact where I can hold a six O'clock aim. I believe I will like this gun better than my Taurus PT1911. It was that good to shoot.
