Just bought a new 700 SPS Tactical AAC rifle on Monday. Been doing a lot of reading about these rifles. Seems like most people find that the Hogue Overmolded stock gets ditched pretty quick. What is the average MOA with the Hogue stock right out of the box? I've seen most people achieving 1 or more MOA with it but with the stock making contact with the barrel I'm pretty much convinced I'm going to end up replacing the Hogue with a Bell and Carlson M40 stock to be able to extract the most outta the rifle. Opinions? Anyone here achieve better than sub-MOA with just the Hogue Overmolded stock? Seems like all that flex in the stock would take away from the accuracy of the weapon. I plan to make this a multipurpose weapon. Long range tactical rifle and hunting rifle.

I have a Bushnell 4200 Elite scope with a 20 MOA rail and Warne rings as of now. I ordered a KRG bolt on bolt knob today. The rifle is with my ammo guy to have a load worked up for it (long range tactical and a deer hunting load).

I was shooting about 1 moa with the stock hogue but I am sure if you kept at it you could get better. You won't be disappointed replacing the stock though.

My ammo guy just sent me this...

Grouping was done at 100 yards with Hogue Overmolded stock. This was the best grouping he got yesterday. He said he was having a bad shooting day too. Didn't have the time to get all the specifics on the load. I know he was using 185gr bullets.

I am waiting for my 700SPS in .308 to get to my FFL (it is due tuesday). It sure looks like it will be a lot of fun. I will shoot it with the stock that is comes with for a bit and then decide which aftermarket stock I will get.

Since mine is doing so well with the Hogue stock im going to keep it. Sub-. 5 minute is awesome for a 650.00 rifle.
