I just inherited a Remington 12-A pump action 22LR. I have done some research and found that serial number - 4938?? was made and sold in 1920. That is cool cause this means that it was my great grandpa's 22.
My questions are; am I right with the manufacture date and where is the best place to look for a break down on how to disassemble ad clean this rifle? Also, after I clean and reassemble, is there any issue shooting today's ammo I yesterdays gun? Is there anything I should look out for when messing with a weapon this old?

Thanks y'all,

Drew

UPDATED!!

Ok, this is for all you gunsmiths out there.

I got the gun apart and cleaned and oiled and put back together. I put a couple dummy rounds through it to make sure all is working. It was not! It won't eject, so I took it to the LGS and the smith there told me that the firing pin was busted. I am not in position to pay someone $75 or $100 for a pin.

What I want to know is, can I replace the pin myself and what is involved? Can y'all help me here?

Thanks again,

Drew
